acendant of his brother, and has certainly
decided talent. Her paintings ure going

corps of tho Homo Defense League gave a

Club, which was followed by a dance, The
committee lit charge of tho entertainment

Titus. The members of the league all wore

Lust Wednesday exeuing the second hy
giene class took Its examinations at the
Lansdowne Red Cross headquarters. Ker
number of that class is ever so proud, for
the examiner pronounced It to be the host
equipped sho bud ever examined There
was no mark below ninety, and the highest
wis ninety-nine. That Is surely a line
reccrd The chairman, Mrs. Wager-Smltb,
considers that It was of course duo to
tho brilliance of the class, though hIso to
tho splendidly fitted emergency room In
which the girls had their classes. This
r09tn, by the way, has been prepired for
any emergency -case that may arise in the
town whero Immediate help Is needed.
The Lansdowno women have planned to
make next Tuesday a ery Interesting day.
Tho Delaware County branch of the
Women's Council of National Defense has
arranged a meeting of nil the women of
tho community In the Century Club. Of
course this meeting might be called by a
dozen or more long names coined to fit
tho occasion, but It Is not. Tho women
nrn simp y asked to come to a "school day."
There nre to be three sessions In the morn
ing, afternoon and evening All sorts of
very helpful lectures will be given, these
having been planned for by tho home
economic department of the Century Club
and the Home and School Association. Al
together It will be a most interesting and
Impottant schoo' day and one which any
won un trying to do her bit cannot afford
to miss

Bryant, who Is with the Canadian artillery,
was recently thrown from a munition
wagon whl e In training camp. Fortunately,
he was not seriously hurt and after a
short convalescence Is able to return to his
regiment.
