I understand they expect to move Into their other new home, this time at Ardmore, In two or three weeks. They have built a house adjoining the new Merlon golf links and near Maryland Woods, tho home of Mrs. Archibald Thorn son, and I hear the grounds are wonder ful, to say nothing of tho house and garage. Tho latter will accommodato fourteen cars. "What a pity It will not be ready In time to give a Halloween party In It tomorrow night! It would bo such an ldal place. Well, a newly arrived private of a few days old came walking along the barracks street and met Lieutenant N. Ho half nodded as he passed. Lieutenant N. I apologize and will certainly see that it does not, occur again." And that, you will admit, was a handsome apology, as, the poor man really did not know he had made a mis' take. But, "dressed In a little brof au thority," oiir young officer remarked: "Very well, your explanatlomtfcaccepted, but that you may riot forget lram going to give ybu a little lesson. So the prlvat. making no remark, stood up before the officer and began saluting slowly but cor. fectly till before he had done so SOME twenty-odd times a small crowd of the men began to gather about and to look questions. One of the captains saw the crowd and walked leisurely over to see what Was 'causing the unusual gathering, and Slscoyered the private hard at work In front of the young officer. , He stopped a moment and said, ."Lieutenant N., what going on?" DIXAXCO The members of tho Delanco branch of tho Delanco and RlverMde Red Cross have much to their credit during the last eight weeks that the workrooms have been busy. Tho committee of Red Cross workers has from time to time sent out urgent nppeals to tho women of Delanco for their help, and surely one hour a day could be spared for the soldiers who havo been putting In weeks and months fighting for those who wero not called to go. SUCCESSFUL FAIR AT RIDLEY PARK Swarthmore Red Cross Busy Fix ing Christmas Bags and Pack ages for Troops Abroad It used to bo that when you went to a fair you'd merely find two tables a cake and candy table and one with fancy arti cles upon It. And, sadly and resignedly, you would pick out a horrible red pin cushion or five cents' worth of very hard peanut brittle, nnd tako a hasty way home ward.
