lcw that tho appointment of the banking committee yesterday to stabilize
money conditions was actually a movement to Ilooverlzo tho supply of money.
Tho Idea wus fostered that this action would tnako tho money market
easier, but Wall street has yet to too tho tlmo when combined banking control
worked for fuller accommodation and better terms to borrowers.
Tluro was a llttlo help on tho bull Bide from tho belief that when Presi
dent Wilson returns to Washington tho prices on steel und copper would bo
announced, and this belief was effective In causing a firm tono to United States
Steel common, Uethlehcm Steel and the leading copper stocks when some rail
