LOOKING STRAIGHT INTO THE EYES OF A BRITISH "TANK" C underwood a und.rwood.
Small wonder the Germans fled in dismay when tho first of these weird-looking monsters came lum
berinp; over tho trenches. Even today, when they have become used to tho appearance of the "tanks" in
battle, the Teutons live in dread of nn attack by the machines. The peep holes shown in tho picturo
are tho "eyes" through which tho men inside the "tank" find the range for their gunfire.
