Report fpr Week's Currency Movement
Shows Big Reduction
NHW YOllK. Miy 4. Attention has
been called to tho discrepancies now fre
eiuentlj shown between the results of the
compilation of tho traceable movement of
funds each week and the actual bank state
ments, due to the paramount Influence In
local monetary operations of the New York
Federal Ileserve Bank The effect of the
hhlftlns of accounts by that Institution Is
greater this week than In any other week
within at least n year, owing to tho In
terchange of United States certificates of
Indebtedness preparatory to the offering of
the llbertj. loan.
The Indications this week point to a loss
by the local Clearing House banks of JI09,
251,000. a credit by the New York Federal
Reserve Bank at the Clearing House for
the week of 90,669,000, and a loss by the
banks In nddltlon of J 18,773,000 to the
Subtreasury contributed to the total.
