moter of Jersey Resorts
' David lllsley, ono of the most prominent
figures In tho development of the .South Jer
sey coast resorts, died yesterday morning
at hls-homc, 4501 Walnut street, of a com
plication of diseases. Horn In Georgetown,
H. C, November 18, 1867, ho was educated
nk the Pennsylvania Military Collego In
Chester and tho University of Virginia.
For many years Mr. Hlalcy wns associated
with the publishing firms of John M, Tot
ter & Co., the John C. Winston Company,
Philadelphia, nnd tho Methodist Hook Con
cern, of New York. Ho was well known In
tho publishing trade throughout tho United
States.
Ten years ago. with his brothers, II. S.
lllsley nnd It. V. ltlsley: ho formed tho
South Jersey Realty Company, which took
over tho development of Stone Hnrbqr. He
was treasurer of tho South Jersey Ilealty
Company, of tho .Stono Harbor Hlcctrlo
Light nnd Power Company nnd tho Stono
Harbor Water Company, president of tho
Stono Harbor Itnllrond Company nnd n
member of tho bonrd of governors ot the
Stone Harbor Yacht Club.
Mr. Illsley Is survived by his widow,
mother and two brothers. Thn funeral will
be held from tho undertaking establish
ment at 1820 Chestnut street at a date to
be announced later.

representative of the Australasian colonies
t the Universal Postal Union Congress in
Washington. Ho was born In Dublin In
1811.

Joseph Juel, ono of tho oldest Masons In
the Masonic Home, Broad and Ontario
streets, died last night. Ho was eighty-five
years old and had been an Inmato of the
home since November 21, 1011. Old age Is
said to have been tho cause of death.
James Nassau
James Nassau, retired paint manufac
turer and the oldest varnish maker In the
United States, died at his home. 1510 North
Klghtecnth street, last night, after a long
Illness.
