Marketing Plan and
Kinds Relief in Scheme
Kensington housewives today launched a
co-operative marketing campaign. Parties
nf women, armed with baskets nnd a deter
mination to boycott any article of food
priced nt an exorbitant figure, left the
homo of Mrs. Hugh V Munro. 1737 North
fifth rtreet. soon after tho breakfast hour
ifeaded by "Mother" Munro, one of tho
little groups, went to Hock street, a second
party proceeded to the North Second street
market section, while n third canvassed the
produce and fish markets nlong South
street. More than two hours were spent In
the tour of the shop" nnd stalls About
twenty women were In the delegation.
At the conclusion of their quest the,
housewives returned to their homes with
well-lnden baskets Their purchases em
braced meats, fish vegetables nnd fruit
They expressed themselves ijs pleased with
the result of their first concerted nttempt
to reduce living expenses through the co
operative plan of huylng nnd the bovcott
of edibles held nt prices beyond the average
