COACH FOLWELL TALKS
ON PENN TERMS TODAY
uakcrs "Miracle Man" Holds Session
With Sinkler About 1917
Football Season
Bob Kolwell, who built Jip Perm's fltie
football machine last beason nfter It
looked as though many of tho parts were
missing, will meet Chairman Wharton
Binklcr, of the Ited and Hlue football
committee, today, to discuss the slight
matter of salary for the coming ear On
the conference hangs the, possibility that
the famous coach may letum to Frank
lin Field as football skipper for another
season
The "hold-out" is said to ask for a con
siderable Increase oer his present salary,
which rumor fixes at $GU00, and over
the salary which the football committee
la willing to pay
. Not only is there a hitch over the mat
ter ofsalary, but it is not entirely certain
that the Jersey agriculturist Is keen about
returning to Penn as loach If ho Is, nnd
a considerable Increase In his salary is
' made. It Is thought that Folwcll will be
asked to go the loute alone, without the
services of any assistant coaches This
would be in line with a theory that Fol
well has worked out elsewhere, that as
sistants ate not only not entirely neces
sary, but that only one coach makes n
better unit of the team Folwcll Is not
In sympathy with a coach for the line, a
coach for the ends, a coach for the backs,
and so on
Penn had a very successful season last
ear financially so that It Is thought the
football committee will be attentive to the
"miracle man" who put its gridiron athletes
on the map again In one short season
Folwell has Just leturned from a duck
shooting trip.
