ATTRACT MUCH ATTENTION ON CURB

The most importance in trading on the liroad Street Curb today was attached
to the dealings In American Telephone and Telegraph and Bethlehem Steel's new
Issues. The trailing in the latter stock started with u sale at 140, but this was
Bcanceled. Afterward there was active trading from 137 to 135. The rights to
subscribe to new stock sold al 40 and tho new bonds were quoted nt 98 to 9n4.
lAmfcrlcnn Telephone and Telegraph new stock, 2B per" cent, sold at 40 to 47,
fiequal to about 123 for the present shares.
' There was brisk trading in uutuy shares of the general list, with the general
'tendency to higher llgures. Jlarlin Arms advanced from 01 to 63, Haskell and
Barker from 41 to 43 and American International fiom C4 to 54 Vi. l'oole Engineer-
ting dropped from SO to 75 and .Mldvale Steel was In supply ut OOVJ.to 59.
The oil stocks were generally firm, Willi usage selling at ii to SVt anil Sinclair
moving up from 02 to G2. Sequoyah wus steady, with sales around 2. Authorized
statements were made that the management Is now negotiating for ndditlonul
producing acreage with the expectation that the present production of about
H.OOO barrels a month will be doubled within the next thirty days. Cosden sold ut
14 and Cosden Oil was traded In at 14 to 14.
Mining stocks were quiet, with Butte and Superior selling at 10 and 11
andjMngma at 47 and 4S. United Motors sold ut 47 and 4G. United Sugar sold at
35 and 35'i and Santa Cecelia nt 27U.
Sinclair bonds were traded In at 112',, and 113. United Kingdom new two
year notes sold at 99. Hock Island new common sold at 38 and 38.
