Winter Garden, Storm Victim, to Oper
ate in Open Air Now
The largest tent In the world, the cover
ing of the Winter Garden, Fifty-second
street and Lancaster avenue, collapsed dur
ing the wind, rain and snow storm at 2
o'clock this morning. Ono of the main
posts, holding up the cable which stretched
from end to end of the tent, had cracked
yesterday afternoon while members of the
rnwly organized Main Line Skating Club
were cutting about the rink. It broke up
the party, but the rink was not entirely
rut out of use until the early morning storm
struck It.
Herman Harvey, president of the com
pany and manager of the rink, and J. T.
Bailey, third vice president, said today they
would make an ''open air" rink of It and
continue business tomorrow.
