prices are high and variable. Manufac
turers are using up their stock and dealers
are reported as havlnr much smaller stocks
than are usually on hand nt this Beason ot
the year, It Is the Impression that yarns
wilt still tco higher nnd tho prices ot manu
factured products are stilt tending toward
a higher level.
"Cloak and suit manufacturers stnto that
business continues quiet. The suit manu
facturers, however, are looking forward to
a eood spring trade. Thero has been virtu
ally no change In conditions amena the
waist and dress manufacturers; they, how
over, are putting out tholr spring lines.

"There appears to be considerable ac
tivity In the hardware lino, notwithstand
ing tho high prices. There Is a good de

dlanapolls nnd Louisville has declared a
dividend ot 14 per cent on the common
stock and tho regular semiannual dividend
of 2 per cent on the preferred, payable
December 29 to stock of record December
19. Hlx months ago a dividend of Jli
per cent on the common stock was de
clared, being the flrst dividend declared
since December, 1913, prior to which tho
rate was 14 per cent semiannually.

up with the ticker carrying the quotations
of stocks sold on the local exchange. The

Throughout the whole weelf, there has been
an attitude of caution present In the deal

rtcovery In the price of Lehigh Navigation,
which stock sold off In the late trading
yesterday. The stock started with a gain
of a full point, and this waa extended an

doal between Navigation and the Penn
sylvania Ilallroad regardlnr the Lehigh

During the morning a little Interest was
shown In Philadelphia Jlapld Transit trust
certificates and they moved up a little. In
the afternoon, however, the Improvement
wan lost and a little more besides. When
the certificates moved tip, Union Traction
got up a trifle, too, and the small gain was
held to tho close. Throughout tho session
Lake Huperlor waa (ho most active and It
was mostly below the final of yesterday,
A development In connection with tho
local money market was the additional re
discounting by banks with the Federal He
serve llank of Philadelphia. Today about
11,600,000 worth of paper waa taken by the
Federal Institution. A largo proportion of
this was In tho form of collateral loans.
Most of the paper matures In fifteen days.
The Acme Tea Company reported good
salty for ?.ovember. They totaled 31,891.-
