BAELY MARRIAGES FAVORED BY NOTED
JtttUiiUmsT tusum; CALLS TWO CHILDREN ENOUGH
Dr. Thomas W. Galloway, of Beloit, Advocates Single Moral Standard and
Says Women May Enforce It Dubious About
By M'LISS
In a day when Emma Goldmans and
others nnnrclilstlcally, fcmlnlBtlcally and
terifcoriunontallj' Inclined nay harsh thine
about marriage In cenernl nnd youthful
marrlago In particular. It Is refreshing to
(find a modernist who expounds with the
vigor of conviction a few of the old-fash-lontd
notions.
Dr. Thomas W. Galloway, of Dololt Col
lece, Wisconsin, who hns ben delivering
a series of lectures on sex hygiene at .the
University of Pennsylvania, " man who
mlRht ho described cither ns scientifically
sentimental or as sentimentally sclcntlllc,
docs this. Ills old-fashioned conclusions,
how-over, are. reached from modern pre
mises. WOMEN HOLD POWER
Just as though ho weren't a biology ex
pert of an advanced type, ho believes not
only In marriage, but In very early mar
riages. He believes that the upholding of a
high standard of morals lies chlolly with
women; that man will be good If every
mother nnd daughter of us conspires to
make and koep him good by domandlmr
that he bo good.
Doctor Galloway Is so Interested In ad
vancing to the young men of tho country
his theories on the splrltuallzatlon of sec
relatlona that ho has obtained leava of ab
sence from his collcgo to address the young
men of the largo eastern universities.
"I believe In u slnglo standard of morals,"
he told mo, "and that Is the woman's stand
ard. The Ideals of tho women of tho coun
try should be higher, and I tell the boys to
whom I talk that It Is not honorable for
them to expect of tho girls they aro going
to marry moro decency than they them
selves possess.
"Our young people should marry earlier.
It Is Impossible to set an ago, but I believe
they should marry just as soon as they
have ncqulrcd the thlngi that make for a
successful marriage. These are tho power
to appreciate a good man or good woman,
faithfulness and self-mastery."

162 Billion Pounds of Rice
That's the world's annual production of this most valuable food grain. This is going to
be a busy week at all THE CHILDS STORES largely because of An Unusual Flurry in Rice:
Fs Blue Rose Rice.
This is not ordinary rice. It's of extra quality; and it's wonderfully cheap. The grains
are clean, white, pearl-like; and the flavor as rich as rice can be. This most wholesome of
foods is offered at a very insignificant price; and we're prepared to meet a large demand.

The handwriting
is on the wall, and
those twenty words
have a volume of
meaning. They carry
the message of good

of homes where our
coffees have establish

want everybodu (par

them a critical trial.
The more critical the
better, for we want
convincing proof.
Every coffee drinker has his or her idea of richness, smoothness, body and flavor; and select
ing the right coffee, the one best suited to your individual taste, is not necessarily a matter of price.
Coarse-flavored, rank coffees never reach a Childs counter. We are exceedingly particular.. We
know good coffee and so we pass it on to you.
Qualitu for quality, our coffee prices are normally lower than those of any other house in
America, and our standard of merit is determined by actual drinking qualities of the coffee in
the cup. We've nothing to offer but "QUALITY, QUANTITY AND PRICE," and the prices
for this week's selling have been given an extra slant. It's an opportunity you shouldn't miss.
The savings are very practical and real; and the qualities are up to the CHILDS STANDARD.

There's nothing rarer than real goodness in a moderately priced tea. Forty-fwe cents is fair value for
a pound of THIS Ceylon-Formosa; and even more if you go to some exclusive store. We BLEND it our
selves. Notice the capital letters for much of the so-called blending is merely mixing, in order. to get a
fairly good-looking product at the lowest possible cost. Childs' Ceylon-Formosa is a tea of exceptionally
pleasing qualities, it's a value that is positively uhequaled in moderately priced teas. Try a pound to-day.
