COTTON TRADING
WILDEST IN YEARS
Unexpected Sharp Advance in

XIJW YOIIK, Nov. 20. Tho openlns on

unexpected sharp ndvnnco in Liverpool,
whore prices woro up 20 to 33 points nt
tho start here, whereas they wero due to
come 3 to 4 cents lower, caused an ab
normal demand.
Liverpool was the best buyer and was
followed closely by recent shorts who took
their losses The proflt-taklnc IntlulBcd
In by longs probably prevented tho mnrket
from becoming a runaway affair. South
ern Interests purchased tho near months

A Rllmpsco at tho uncertainty of the

tho following: December started at 20.00c
nnd sold down to 20.80c whlto January,
after nn Initial sale at 20.80c, rose to 20 90c
on tho call. In September there wcro threo

Weather conditions In tho South were
clear. Temperatures wcro higher In nearly
all sections, but frost reports wero re
ceived this morning from southern Ala
bama nnd Florida.
A private cable from Liverpool described
tho Kngllsh mnrket as wildly excited, with

In connection with tho ndvnnce of tno

assured, will bo put on nn 8 per cent divi

plan Is put through. It was pointed out
that the company Is earning enough to
