Business was widely scattered and the un certainty over the election result seemed to be reflected In the trading, as the higher levels brought In a good supply. However, the demand was sufficient to take care of the pressure. Tho early advance carried the market about 43 to 46 points net higher, with May sailing at 19.84, or back to within 20 points of the season's high record, established on October 25. Uncertainty over tho results of tho elec tion left sentiment very much confused around tho ring, however, and the advance met heavy realizing, under which there were reactions of several points from the beat before the end of the first hour.
