WASHINGTON, Sept. !D. American
trade efforts In the Kar Kast aro to bo
confronted with competition directed nnd
subsidized by the Japanese Government, ac
cording to dispatches reaching Washing
ton today. The reports say that Japan con
templates granting a bounty to tho elec
trical machinery Industry In Japan for en
gaging In tho export trade In Russia. China
and British India, where American exporters
are already fighting for tho markets.
The Japanese subsidy plan was the
scheme of export organization which Amer
ican commerc.al officials hope to put In
operation here If tho Webb bill, now await
ing congressional action, can bo enacted
into law, allowing combinations In restraint
of trade outside of the United States.

Wife Dies; Husband Dyinjr

den. Her husband, Harry Dold, a- pioneer

wife's death and this greatly aggravated
