Kckaha Sugar Declares Extra 3 Dividend

1,088,740 has been taken. The Pennsyl
vania Railroad Company subscribed for Its

stockholders took a total of ,96,730. The

310, The Pennsylvania Railroad Company
recently applied to the Publta Utilities
Commission of New Jersey for the right to
subscribe to such portion of the new stock

erratic trading was noted In the wheat
market today nnd although at one tlmo
prices were about 4c not lower, the close
showed declines of but i to "Hc.
The market made no response to the
strength at Liverpool. Thero was much
selling of long wheat, especially In the
early part of session nnd tha biggest bulls
supplied the various months freely, taking
profits on purchases made some days ago.
Although underlying conditions were not
materially changed, there was but a small
demand to tnko up tho selling when It was
largest.
Importers wero good buyers for shipment
via tho Quit and thcro was a scattered de
mand from floor traders.
Tho market rallied mainly on reports
that tho foreign Interests wero quite willing
to pay tho high prices.

and trading conditions on tho Broad Street
Curb were similar to those on the Stock
Exchange There was vigorous buying of
many issues in tho drat half of tho day,
followed by recessions on profit-taking
sales.
In tho late afternoon tho sudden ad
vances In tho railroad stocks on tho big
board found a response In another buying
movement in many of tho nctlvo curb is
sues, and higher prices wero quickly es
tablished. A good deal of interest was
attached to tho trading In Metropolitan
Petroleum, because of .advices from Tam
plco to the offices of tho company In regard
to tho rnpld progress of construction of
the plpa lino from the oil fields to tho Gulf.
Tho stock ranged In tho first half of the
day from UU to 14, continuing tho up
ward movement In yesterday's trading.
Springfield Body was nnother strong fea
ture, advancing from 85'3 to 88, and tho
llynn .Motor stocks wero Doth In good de
mand, with Stromberg selling at 45.
American International Corporation was ac
tive nnd strong, moving up from 60 to S3
for tho 80 per cent paid certificates.
Monitor Sliver was tho strongest of the

report from Cuba follows; Receipts all
ports, 6600 tons, compared with 6124 tons
last week and 15,500 tons last year; exports,
all ports, 32,500 tons compared with 25.095
tons last week and 27,500 tons last year;
stock, all ports. 420.500, as against 446,829
a week ago and 302,000 tons a yearigo;
mills grinding were four against five last
week and five last year; exports to Europe

the statement of fuet shipments of the
lines east of Pittsburgh nnd Erie for the
month ended July tl and for the period
from January 1 to that date. Both state
ments showed big gains there, Indicating
still further increases In tho large earnings
of tho company.
During the month of July there wero
hauled over these lines a total of 6,077,780
tomi of fuel, nn Increase of 665,270, as com
pared with July of last year. For the
period mentioned the shipments were 43,
658,761 tons, n gain of 7,647,020 oer tho
corresponding period of the previous year,
Tho shipments ot anthracite during the
month increased 263,489 tons and for the
period tho Increase In this fuel was 695,514,
The Increase In bituminous for tho month
over the same month In 1916 totaled 346,566
tons nnd for the period 4,428,349 tons.
Coke shipments Increased 65,215 for tho
month and 2,420,157 for the period
