The services which began at 10 o'clock
were attended by the sisters of the convent,
local cJertcy, visiting; slaters from other
dioceses and, parochial school children. The
entire attendance that crowded the chapel
formed Into n, processional and escorted the
body to the frrare.
Mother Patricia, who was In her Md
year, was one of the most distinguished
women In religious orders In the United
States. She was the head of the Convent
and, Sisters of Merer, St Mary's Mouse for
Catholic Working Girls, adjoining the con
vent at Broad street and Columbia avenue :

Wifo of Broker, After Lengthy Illness,
Dies at Chestnut Hill
Mrs. Mary Chapman Elklns died at her
home, 7S01 Creshelm road. Chestnut Hill,
this morning", following a protracted Illness.
Mrs. Elklns was the wife of Harvey U El
klns, a member of tho Arm of Edward V.
Kane. & Co , brokers, of this city, and
daughter of William C. Chapman, a promi
nent member of the bar at York, Pa.
Funeral servlcei will be held at the
Chestnut Hill residence on Saturday aft
ernoon at 4 o'clock, conducted by the Rev.
Charles E. Kder, of tho Episcopal Chtych
of St. Martln'a-ln-tho Field. The Interment
will be private.
Mrs. Elklns Is also survived by two
daughters and one son, Mrs. Harold M.
Broomall, Miss Ethel Chapman Elklns and
Frederick Chapman Elklns, of this city.
Two Sharks on Kensington Avenue
Two sharks are being- displayed in front
of 392S Kensington avenue today where
George S. Bliss has a fish market. They
were caught by him and Jacob Kohn, of
tho Enterprise Fish Company, yesterday off
Corson's Inlet, near Sea Isle City. Tho
men were fishing some IS miles off shore.
Three sharks wero caught In their net. An
10-pound one and a 65-pound one wero the
specimens brought home and now on exhi
bition. Tho big fellow, about 10 feet long,
escaped, tearing the net and spoiling a big
catch. The fish they have In Kensington
are about five and four feet long, respec

moderate south to west winds.
The temperatures have risen slowly In
tho northeastern States from the upper
Mississippi valley eastward, except along
the north Atlantic slope. The warmer area
will spread eastward to the coast today
and tonight, but no Intense heat is indi
cated at this time. In general there is a
temperaturo excess of from 4 to 8 degrees
throughout the Middle West this morning,
while seasonable conditions prevail in the
Atlantic States and the cotton belt. Scat
tered showers have covered portions of the
upper Lake region, the central valleys and
the cotton belt during the last 24 hours.
