Under the law owners of Insanitary pig
geries will be given n chance to leave the city
with their hogs, but If they fall to do so
their pens will be burned and their hogs
fed to the paupers under the city's care,
It Is not considered likely that pig owners
will make any Tight Francis Shunk Brown,
who was attorney for tho pig men, has In
dlcated that the Superior Court decision
la final, and that an appeal to tho Supreme
Court is not warranted.
The only piggery which has n chance to
remain in the city Is one which Is noted as
sanitary by Inspectors, and Is within tho
area fixed, by Councils.
Former Philadelphia Woman Slain
Mrs, Pauline Harter, 3S3 Darrah street,
Pittsburgh, who. Is reported to have been
murdered In that city, formerly lived In
Philadelphia with her mother, Mrs. Mary
Trachtcnberg, and her sister, Mrs. David
Carrlsh, at 2421 South Sheridan street
sMrs. Karter's husband, Leon Harter, mem
ber of tho firm of Harter and Slcgel,
trouser manufacturers, is being held In
connection with his wife's death. Louis
Schwartz, of Pittsburgh, uncle of Mrs.
Harter. telegraphed the first news received
,hcre of tho death. Mrs. Harter's mother
