In tho compotltlvo dancing. In this caso
tho prUo was a hand-painted hat for Miss
Wright, which was mighty becoming .to
her. Both of tho Wright girls, without
being great beautlcsb very smart-looking,
and certainly havo stylo, which is

What aro wo coining to, I ask you,
When in ono of our leading, resort ho

tho last week? I was dining and talk
ing to some Trlond3 when my wor,ds
were Interrupted by an astonished ex-
clamatlon, and my 'mouth, I regret to
Kay, hung open wide, for opposite to me
at a small table sat a dignified lady (a
grandmother at that) and In front of hor
on a chair was a dacjishund. Bho care
fully cut the breast of chicken In -small
pieces and added fresh vegetables to tho
plate, and for a tlmo I wondered If she
would feed him with, a fork. However,
she spared my feelings this far In that
nftor sho had prepared his plato sho
placed It on tho floor, and Mr. Bob de
scended with dignity and proceeded to lap
It up. They tell mo this same weo canine
M was allowed to go up to Germantown
last -winter to visit tho lady's soil and
crandchlldren. and ho took with him his
trunk, for he owns, it appears, sweats
era of various colors and collars o
- match, besides other dog necessities,
whatever on earth they may be. I havo
heard of dogs having tooth brushes and
bracelets, but to own sulllclent clothes
to fill a trunk! Good night! At any rate,
to continue my narrative, sp homesick
did Bobby become staying with his half
brother and nieces and nephews that his
mistress had to bo phonod for, and Bho
brought him back home with her, and
he has not been parted from her since,
nor Is he likely to-be until "death them do
part." I expect tho fair owneress will
then don weeds. NANCY WYNNE.
