CHICAGO, July 18. Ronewed buylns;
strengthened tho wheat market In the final
dentlnss today after It Wl declined below
yesterday's close, following a stronger start.
Thero wns quite a rURh of bujlnn by com
mission houses In the early dealing's, based
on an ndvanco In Liverpool, continued warm
weather In tho Northwest nnd prospects of
llrtlit shipments for tho week from Aus
tralia nnd Argcntlnn.
Exports from tho latter country were
catlmnted nt not tu excess of 1,600,000
bushels. It Is still difficult to get tonn.iBO
everywhere. Proflt-taklngr on a liberal
scale followed, with reports regarding
black rust In tho Northwest less sensational.
Somo of the houses that recently wero most
active In disseminating tho bad news
liquidated.
A leading firm In tho Northwest declared
that while reports nbout black rust from
North and South Dakota had caused consid
erable anxiety, nnd admitting there may be
Indications of rust, It believed that no act
ual damago had yot occurred. Other ad
vices from tho spring wheat bolt declared
that tho outlook for t lie, yield was excellent
and that tho outturn might he 300,000.000
bushels.
Omitting Rumania nnd Russia, Broomhnll
cstlmntcd that tho totnl surplus of other
oxportlng countries would ho 018,000,000
bushels, agnlnst 602,000,000 bushels last
yenr.
Corn finished higher after receding fol
lowing nn ndvnnco at tho outset. There
wns some good selling pressure, largely on
the new crop, but nulto a lino of December
was picked up, presumably for Eastern
account.
Tho market nt Liverpool was dull but
firm. Thoro was talk of a reduction In tho
area In Argcntlnn. Shipment from that
country for the week were estimated at
only 850,000 bushels,
Oats were Irregular, following firmness.
July nnd December ended n llttlo lowor,
while September closed unchanged. Ad
vices regarding tho crop In Europe lire un
favorable, tho result of unseasonably cold
weather.
