Tho market had been oversold to a high degree by many trader, both on tho floor and outside of tho Exchange In tlio last two weeks who thought tljpy had one opportunity to get rich quick by selling Mexican stocks. Shorts joined In a stampede this morning to get their stocks back. The crowd f brokers in Mexican Petroleum reached hugo proportions, covering almost a quartor of the board room floor. Every ono seemed to havo buying orders or Were urgent as buyers for their own account. Tho stock, which closed yesterday at 81, advanced on bids of units at a time from 93 to 101, with sales in different parts of tho crowd at around 100 and 101 at tho samo Instant.
