In the first five months of this year The Chicago Tribune has beaten its own record for the corresponding period of last year by 3,921 columns or 20 per cent. r The' Chicago Tribune's gain in this period is more than twice as great as the gain of the next Chicago paper; more than twice as great as the combined gain of the other Chicago morning and Sunday papers; within 561 columns of as great as the gain of all the other Chicago papers combined.
