vention of tho Bucks County Flremon's As
sociation, which will continue until tomor
row night. Tho first business of tho con
vention Is tho election of ofllcers. Tho elec
tion this year Is awaited with unusual In
terest, for Oscar Heycr, of Southampton,
who has been president of the body for a
number of years, refuses to run again. In
stead, ho Is a candidate for tho post nf (Iro
marshal. Because of this thero aro a num
ber of applicants for tho presidency.
Delegations from Now Hollo nnd Lang
borne aro each backing candidates from
those communities. Another feature of tho
first session will ba action on a resolution
to amend tho bylaws providing for a death
benefit for mombors.
Tomorrow the assembled Bucks County
delegations, augmented by a dozen compa

directors. To permit others than the

the $500,000 aimed at Is secured, tho.books
may not bo closed, but a total of ,720,000
or oven 11,000,000 may bo attempted.

light on tho Identity of tho anonymous
donor who hns consented to mnko good
tho running oxpenso of the Orchestra dur
ing tho five-year period allotted for tho
raising of tho endowment. So far na
learned, Mr. Van Hertsselacr and Leopold
Stokowskl, and the donor himself, aro tho
only persons who know tho name of thlB
munificent patron of the Orchestra who
has voluntarily shouldered a yearly finan
cial burden of $50,000 to $75,000 that Phil
adelphia's musical prestige might bo main
tained. Arthur Judson, manager of tho orchestra,

Ho adds: "Every one Is going out for
moro guarantors. Cyrus II. K. Curtis, Ed
