movement of currency this week Indicates
a loss in ensh by banks ot $12,703,000, fore
casting another large reduction In Clearing
House surplus. In splto nf tho gold Imports
there was a heavy drain thrqugh Subtreas
ury nnd Federal reserve banks. Tho -gain
by banks from the Interior was $995,000.
Gold Imports amounted to $14,345,000, from
Canada, while loss on Subtrcasury opera
tions proper was $12,150,000. During, the
week Federal reservo banks had debit ba
nnces nt- tho Clearing House amounting to
$5,708,000. Its credit balances totaled $21,
721,000, representing a loss by the banks of
$15,953,000. This makes net loss by banks
of $12,703,000.
