hibited the Importation of a long list of

United States and England.

decree, but It was said the purpose un
doubtedly was to procure moro space In ves
sels coming to French ports for such sup
plies ns tho Government absolutely needs. '
Among the Importations prohibited In tho
decree are automobile chnsslH. with or with
out motor or body, automobile coach work
and other automobile parts; parts of pho
tographic apparatus, fresh and preserved
fruits, perfumery and soap or other per
fumed articles, porcelain, glass, crystal
ware, crockery, cotton hosiery, gloves, un
dressed skins, Imitation jewelry and musi
