NANCY WYNNE HAS A BUSY TIME
ATTENDING VARIOUS DIVERSIONS
asby-Large Wedding One of the Prettiest This Year.
r Last Meeting of Mrs. Smith's Supper Club
: Saturday Night
fTTITHOUT doubt Henrietta Large
VV Rnnhv was a dream of a bride. I
nftver saw her lovelier. She Is such a
f dainty, exqulslto typo It scema to mo iw
it aha had stepped out or anoiner periou
ntd this century. Sho Is llko a Greuzo
palntlnp. "Well, at tho wedding she
wore some of tho old family lace In a
succession of flounces, una saun was
draped from tho shoulders to form tho
long train which fell over tho short
Bklrt. Sho has such a fair shin with
,er dark hair and eyes that tho rich old
lace was wonderfully becoming. Of
course tho entlro Largo family turned
out, and tho Largo and Meade connec
tion by no means hello tho first name.
Malsle, of course, had not so many
relatives, as tho family Is small and
Torke Stevenson Is away In Franco,
you know," and Mrs. Yorko was also
away: but of courso his parents wero
there and Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Steven
son and Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Thurs
ton Mason and Dr. Clement Blddle: tho
last named, by tho way, Is to be surgeon
of the Preparedness Camp.
Mary Iteakcrt Large, and Margaretto
Large Harrison wero both frocked In
gray, which brought out their vlvld
beauty, and Mary Lai go Fox was per
fectly lovel also. Meade gave Henrietta
in marriage: he is the eldest brother,
and very handsome. But I realty think
the children wero tho loveliest llttlo
things I have ever seen at any wedding.
Little Sarah Lnrgo and' Mary Harrison
were flower girls, and that llttlo lamb of
a Jack Fox was a page: then, all tho
other children went to tho wedding and
reception, too, tho Larges, tho Harrisons
ahd Foxs. Truly tho beauty In tho
family has been bequeathed to the
younger generation.
On Saturday evening Mra. J. "-Hitch-lson
Scott gavo an extra Supps Club
party, to which Eho invited t'10 mem
bers of both series, and surelv tho suc
cess of her club was prov. by the
eagerness with which tho members
flocked to the ballroom of tho Bellovuo
Stratford, where a double row of tables
extended around the entire room; In fact.
In somo Instances they were ranged
three rows deop, nnd in many cases
seated as many as 20 and 30 guests.
Altogether, I should say, there must
have been more than flvo hundred per
sons there. Betty Scot was, ohl so pret
ty In a dear little gown of white lace
and pale gray and with an exqulslto
bouquet of flowers from her flanco, who
was looking so glad that others know
about the engagement now, and ho could
let his face express his happiness.
The world and his wife wero there, I
should say; at any rate, Billy Drayton
and his wife 'were, and Billy Wardon
and his and tho Pere Wllmera and
Howard Woods. I could not begin to
say all, but I saw Mr. and Mrs. Ran
dolph Justice, Mr. and Mrs. Gardner
Cassatt, Mr. and Mrs. Sydnoy B. Hutch
inson, Mr. and Mrs, Samuel Bell, Jr.,
Mr. and Mrs. Roddy Page, Mr. and Mrs.
Heckschor Wethorill, Mr. and Mrs.
James Potter, Jack Potter, Mr. and
Mrs. B. Rittenhouse Miller, Coclle How
ell, Eleanor Verner, , Peggy Porot, Dr.
and Mrs. Wnrron "Walker, Mr. and Mrs.
Hal Paton, Mr. and Mrs. George Rosen
garten, Mrs. Ralph Derr (Phoebo How
ell, who was), Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Earle White, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Mc
Credy, Mr. and Mrs. Ell K. Price, Mr.
and Mrs. Stewart Wurts, MI33 Mary
Wurts, Mr. and Mrs. James M. Reed,
Frances Sullivan, Bertha Clark, Mr.
and Mrs. Charles A. Potter, Jr., Agnes
Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Schllchter,
Mr. and Mrs. John Qhlplcy Dixon, Sarah
Penrose, Sarah Nellson, Josephine
Cooke, Clarence Fisher, Agnes Brockle,
Besslo Wlster, Isabel Pago, Ned Davis, '
Dick Bullitt, Certrude P. K. Pancpast,
Sophia Norris, Fielding Willcox, Jos
Smith and hosts or others.
Balloons and brightly colored feathers
attached to burrs wero thrown down on
the dancers from the boxes: the burrs
stuck of courso and the brilliant reds
and blues and greens added to the gaiety
of nations, attached as they were to
heads and shoulders of those on the
floor.
I wish you could have seen the Walter
Xilpplncott front steps at 21st and
Walnut streets yesterday morning
about 3 e, m. Some one going up Wal
nut or 21st, I knownot, and certainly
he did not know, had evidently conceived
the Idea that Walnut street was not
wide enough for him and his new car
and so decided to walk up the Llppln
cotts' front wall. He did It, too, of that
there can be no doubt, though why he
left the steps still there Is something
I should like explained, for the entire
atone railing of the house towards 21st
street was ripped right off, half of the
middle rail was gone and the big stone
block which held the railing at the
Strieker Coles' -was thrown out on the
pavement. At first I wondered if a Zep
pelin had dropped a bomb and then, a
couple of Iron nuts and a piece of
splintered wood told the tale I have no
Idea who did It, but the curves and zlg.
isags which were outlined by fresh tire
markg showed no certain approach. I
only hope no one was hurt. There were
no signs ,of gore In the morning light of
8. eo we -win hope for the beat.
