DO YOU suppose any one thinks thero
are not enough As or Es in Shake
i apeare's name and so has added a few
extra As and called the exhibit of things
that aro curious pertaining to the Im
mortal 'William j Shakespeare with ana
attached. Bo that as It may, of course
we all know It Is the proper thins to
refer ihusly to the exhibit, and that the
ana Is Just what tells us what It Is; but
remembering my struggles In my, school
days to know whether It was Sha'kspere,
Shakspcar, Shakespeare or what In the
world was the correct way of spelling
his natho, I wondered, you know. Now,
It seems, It haa been decided once -for
all and it has two As and three Es.
After this long dissertation It might bo
well to say that the exhibition starts
this ev.enlng at 8:30 o'clock at the Penn
sylvania Academy of tho Flno Arts,
Broad and Cherry streets, and lasts un
til May 21.

engagement of their daughter, Miss Eliza
beth du Puy Scott to Mr. James Gould,
Jr son of Mr. and Mrs, James Gould,
who have been spending tha past winter
at the Clinton, 10th and Clinton streets.
Miss Soott made her debut this winter
and has been one of the most popular
buds of the season. On both sides of the
family she Is related to many of the most
prominent families In Philadelphia. Her
father, Mr. J. Hutchison Scott, won
fame In th'e Spanish-American War by
' his bravery and was decorated by the
'United States. He resigned from the
service ten years ago and went Into
business In .New York. He Is a brother
of Major Srfnders Scott and Mrs. Rudolph
Agasslz. of Boston, and a nephew of Miss
Henrietta Sanders, of this city. On her
mother's side of the family Miss Scott
,has also numerous relatives. Mrs. Scott
iwas Miss Kdltlt Graham, the youngest
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Graham of this city, and Is a
'sister of Mr. -John Graham and Mr.
Howard Graham, of Chestnut Hill, and
Mrs. Barton Hirst. Mr. Gould Is a
'graduate of Andover College and Yale
University, where he won renown In
various athletic pursuits, and has lived
In this city for several years, though ho
Is now engaged In business In Oklahoma.
He Is a brother of Sydney Gould, who Is
at present at Yale, and Is related to the
Gould family of New York. Both young
people are fond of riding and outdoor
sports. No date has been set for the
wedding, Mr, Gould arrived In this city
yesterday from the West and will remain
here for a week before returning to Okla
homa. It Is rather an Interesting thing to
note that four first cousins In the Scott
family are all engaged to be married at
this time. Miss Nancy Scott and Miss
Arabella Scott, both daughters of Major
Scott; Miss Marie Agasslz. of Boston,,
whose engagement .was announced last
month, and now Miss Elizabeth Soott.

Charity Affairs
The musical program arranged for
Wednesday night's entertainment at the
Bellevue-Stratford, in aid of the Catholic
High School for Boys, will be full of
springtime airs and melodies, and prom
ises) to bo an altogether delightful feature
of the evening.
Tho "Orpheus Overture" will be the
opening number of the program, after
which the "Waltz Song," by Becker, sung
by Miss Marie V. Loughney. Following
the presentation of a little playlet, "The
Bravest Thing In the World," by members
of the Pinya and Players Club, Miss Mary
Barrett will sing MoB2kowskl's "Spring
time of Love." Mr. Ralph Bingham's
humorous monologues are next on the pro
gram, and the "Flower Song" from
"Mnd&ma Butterfly" will bo given by Miss
Loughney and Miss Barrett.
Following the flower song the next num
ber on the program wjll bo an original
sketch, written and arranged by Mr. John
