Bless me, why should Nancy bo
around when funny things happen?
After all, it Isn't a bad Idea though, for,
left to ourselves, wo might not tell of
our sad downfalls.
You see, tho gentleman In question
was going away for a little trip and
Just as he was leaving the office some
ono called him on tho telephone and so
he had to run llko everything to catch
his train. And how was ho to know
that the lock of his suitcase had not
s latched and that tho straps had worn
thin; but, however It may be, this "post
lutely" happened. Ho went flying up
tho steps of Broad Street Station at
15th qtreet, nrhd Just as ho reached tho
toj) tho strain on tho suitcase proved
a bit too much, and open flew tho bag
nnd all over the top steps went collars,
ties, socks, handkerchiefs, razors, soap
and more Intlmato pink silk articles,
ouch as fastidious youths sport. It was
a shame to laugh, but how could ono
hejp It. Be this said for his consolation,
evidently his watch had been fast, for
I saw him look desperately toward tho
clock, and Joyous surprise lit up his
countenance. And ho gathered his be
longings with tho aid of several kindly
pejsp.ns and caught his train with full
five minutes grace.
