sylvania Itailroad continues to show sub
stantial gains over last year. According
to figures Just Blven out by the railroad
for the first 15 days of tho present month,
showing tho dally average of loaded cars
passing 10 Junction points, there was an
Increase of 24,5 per cent., as compared
with the same period of 1915. Tho Increase
In February over February of last year
was 27..1 per cent.
The largest Increase, at any pplnt was
at Pittsburgh Interchange 17,928 cars.
Gallltzlu came next, with an Increase of
13.199 cars. Tho total for the month was
424,880 cars, compared with 341,948 In
1915.

the year ending December 31, 1916, com
pared with $1,104,801 In tho previous
year. The net for tho year waB $074,784,
against $556,968 in 1915. The earnings
on tho $9,641,600 of common stock were
6.9 per cent., ngalnst 6.7 on tho provtoua
year.
