Means Real Business
I Tho entrance of Mr. Dougherty Into tho
arena as a burner ior mo maicn nun mo
acceptance of his terms by Dunn for Kll
bine, presents a new angle to the nlTnlr.
m,o hnnlface from Lelporvillo means bu.il-
new, and Is on tho job with a wcll-uphol-l
itereil bankroll, which contains real nion
f ey. Ills offer Is n bona fide one In every
5 respect, and, us Kilbane has accepted, It
kUvp to Chancy to do tho same.
I "Yes, I am after tho Kllbano-Chancy

to go througn wmi it wiicn uunney is
ready to talk business. Where will tho
bout bo held-' Well, I really don't know
u yet. However, It will bo a 15-round
affair, and the location will bo announced
ai toon as both boxers sign tho nrtlcles
and post their forfeits. I might say right
now, however, that tho contest will NOT
la held In Haltimoro If I have anything

I Judging from Into developments, It

It must bo realized, however, that a,

National niscult nnd Dobson wero tho
winners of last night's Industrial League

O'llellly and King playing up to their
usual standard, trimmed Hlcctrlc storage
In a low scoring game, 20 to 15. Tlio
guarding was unusually close.
In tho other game Dobson mado a
runaway of its match with American
Pulley and almost set up a now Indus
trial record for high scoring, 71 to 32.
In the Dobson-Amerlcnn Pulley game
Klndon, Moorehcad nnd Prlcluirt, with
19, 9 and 8 Held goals, respectively, ran
a race all during tho melee to boo who
could run up tho highest score. In out
distancing his two teammates, Klndon
gained a firmer hold on Ills position ns
leading scorer in tho league.
Last night's games had llttlo or no
bearing on tho race for tho pennant, as
E. G. I3udd and Western Electric, tho
two top lives, wero not affected by tho

CRUISE PLANNED
BY CORINTHIANS
Event in May Includes
Stops at Annapolis and
Old Point Comfort
TO HOLD RACES ENROUTB
"Sailing Down tlio Chesapeake Hay" is
a fitting tltlo for the annual cruise of tho
various clnssei of boats of tho Corinthian
Yacht Club, which has Its headquarters' on
the Delaware It Ivor at Esslngton. Slnco
Its debut Into the yachting game'moro
than 2,"i years ago, nftcr n split had oc
curred In tho ranks of tho Philadelphia
Yacht Club, In 1SS9, tho Corinthian
Yncht Club lias been a. great sponsor-, of,
llect cruising.
Commodore Charles Longstrctcli, re
cently elected, Ih planning tills extended
cruise for tho latter part of May. Old
Point Comfort will bo one of tho Mopping
points and tho central point will be nt
Annapolis. It Is planned to hold raco.i
for the riiccnbouts nnd dinghys of tho
Iloct nt the various places enrouto,
I,at season tho crulso to Chesapeake
waters was participated In by every sort
of craft from tho nuxlliary schooner to
tho high-speed express cruiser. It was
the llrst occasion for tho club officers' to
trt out the new regulations ns regards to
cqundron maneuvers as set down by tho
rules of tho United States Power Squad
rons, of which tho Corinthian Club had
become n division.
Each season, starting In with tlio spring
nnd continuing until lato fall, tho boat
owners of the club licet together for trlpa
to distant points. In the early days when
the three-masted, full-rigged schooners and
sailing craft wero the means ot pleastlro
for tho men who loved tho wntor, tho club
gathered 111 nil tho boats bolonglng to the.
club fleet nnd set sail for Long Island,
Iloston and other points down East, Visit
wero paid the various yacht clubs along
tlio Atlantic coast. When In tlio vicinity
of New York and Marblchead. tho Corin
thian yachtsmen competed In tho races of
tho Now York Yncht Club.
Activity on tho Delawaro Itlver In tho
sailing game was In its zenith In tho, lata
nineties. Virtually every week-end sailing
races wero held from Smith's Island oft
Mnrkot street, this city, to Esslngton and
other points south.
While racing was the attraction, much
Interest was taken in cruising. A cruise
would ho taken to Now York, followed
hy ono to tho waters of Chesapeake Bay
and later to Itlvorton nnd other points on
tho upper stretches of tho Delawaro River.
With tho advent of tho gasoline engine
Interest in the sailing game waned. A
large number of tho members of tho club
went In for motorboats but, nonetheless
somo of the men stuck by tho sailing
ci aft, although equipping their boats with
auxiliary engines. They depended for tho
most part on sails for navigation, using;
tho nuxlliary power for emergency In caso
of storm.
