homo last night In Aiken, s. C, -ifter

yard. Miss Schollcld was born In Bucks
Couutj.
In 1SGT) she went South and taught In
a negro school In tho Islands or llcau
fort. Three vears later the went tn
Aiken and, with her own means and
the nid of friends In the North, estab
lished there tho Schollcld Industrial
School, a vocational school for negroes.
To this school she devoted her life. The
Institution Is now In flourishing condi
tion. A memorial will be erected to her by
the citizens of Alkcn In grateful memory
of the great work she did Just after tho

to make lighter the burden of the state
of South Carolina.

DR. HENRY PARRISH
For Years a Baptist Pastor and State
Laryngologist
Dr Henry Parrlsh, for years n Unptlst
pastor and until his retirement, several
years ago, lar.vngologlst at the State Dis
pensary for Tuberculosis, died yesterday
morning at the home of his son, 0r. Rob
ert C. Parrlsh. 5301 Chester nvnnne
Heart disease, from which he had suffered
for more than a month, caused death. Ha
was 68 ears old.
For seven years Doctoi Parrlsh served
as pastor of tho Pilgrim Ilaptlst Church,
which was formeily at .'3d and Christian
streets While yet doing church work ho
entered the Medlco-Chlrurglcal College to
study medicine, graduating In 1837.
Ho was a member of the County Medi
cal Association, the American Medical
Association, tho Pennsylvania Medical
Association, the National Geographical
Society as well ns being a Fellow of tho
Itoynl Historical Society. Mrs, Nelson
Warner, of 122 South Wilton street, Is a
daughter. The funeral will bo held on
Friday afternoon.

day of heart disease at ills home, Mr
Hadduck for years was the manager and
treasurer of the United Lead Company of

Ho was a member of the Merlon
Cricket Club and other clubs. lie Is sur
vived ,by a widow. The funeral arrange
ments have not been announced.
