Morris men, John and Dick, and In the
i 1 generation the two Jeffries girls,
Mary and Amanaa, aaugniers or .Mr.

latter was Mary Dobson), married two
Roengarton men. Speaking of Mrs.
Jeffries, I do think she Is one of tho
very smartest and best gowned women
In this town. I have never scon her
but she Is in the very last word for
frocks or hats, and she Is so good look
In. Lla. Is having a wonderful time this
winter and quite upholds her end of
the family reputation for smart gowns
and general attractiveness. Sho wore
the loveliest frock at the Assembly,
fathloned of flesh-colored chiffon and
tulle and trimmed with tiny roses. At
another ball she was gowned n a won

Tonight her 'mother will, of course,
assist In receiving, and nil tho good

J remember hearing a funny story once
about Lisa and Paulino Dlsston. They
both lived In Chestnut Hill at the time,
t believe, and both had French nurses,
to their English comersatlon was
ri (lightly mixed with strange French
turns. Lisa had been to a party (alio
was about G years old then and Pauline
) and, as often happens to small chil
dren, the party did not agree with
Lisa and sho was quite 111. Paulino
went to see her and on returning homo
as asked: "How Is LIsa7" "Oh." said
Pauline, "she Is all right: It Is only
tthat jou call It? an attack of bill."
So biliousness was for a long time
known by that name In tho Dlsston
menage anyway.
The Lewis Ncllsons will entertain ut
dinner before the ball for Elizabeth
Griffith and the Howard Pancoasts for
' Gertrude. Hachel Fltler will bo given
a dinner by Mrs. Washington Gilpin
and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Grey will
also give a dinner.
