OFFICIAL MOTION PICTURES OF
Taken by Order of the Great General Staff of the French Army
TRANSLATION
Ministry of Foreign Affnira, Office of the Minister,
French Republic, Paris, October 30, 1915.
Dear Mr. Powell: I send you the cinematograph films you have selected. As I have told you,
these films have been taken by the "operateurs mobilises" at the front of the French army with
the authorization of the Great General Staff. It is, as you know, superfluous to affirm their au
thenticity without retouching, which is quite indisputable.
Accept, dear Mr. Powell, the expression of my heartiest best wishes.
FOURNOL (Bureau Chief).
