Scarcely a day passes that some In teresting people are not to be found lunching In the exquisite rose and gold room or the Kltz-Curlton. At noon yesterday a number of fashionables were noticed, among them Mr. and Mrs. J Kearsley Mitchell, 3d, who were with the George F. Tylers nnd the Billy Elkins t-i,. cmi.i. f,, TTfiri ' Kitty Smith and Harr , Tucker lunched together, and In one ( corner Katherlne Kremer was having an Interesting tete-a-tete with Iloddy. Others lunching together were Mrs. Paul Denckla Mills, nnd her little daughter, Mr. Arturo de Hceron. Mrs. Isaac H Schlicter, Jr.. Mrs. William Gray Warden. Mrs. Randal Morgan, Mrs Hownrd Clark and Mrs. Jack Hol llngsworth, Mr. Harry McMlchael. Mrs Lawrence T. Paul nnd Mrs. Alex ander Brlnton Coxe; Edwlna Weth- crlll with several friends: John C. Bell I with Doctor Thomas; the William Ellis Sculls, Mrs. Tllghman and Miss Hop kins and the James Spears, whose mar rlage. as you will remember, took place Just a little more than a year ago In New York. I was quite editied the other day when a young woman tripped Into the dressing room nt the IMtz and with great precision opened her exquisite little handling and drew therefrom the usunl vanity case, powder, lip stick and so on. but that wasn't all! To my surprise a tiny toothbrush, with Its accompanying cleanser, emerged, and the little lady applied herself diligent ly to her molars. This Is surely the day of the careful toilette! A visit to the smart hotels during the luncheon hour ennnot fall to prove a liberal education in what the smartly dressed woman is wearing. Evidently the charming alliance of velvet and fur Is a lure which few women can resist. Mrs. Jlmmlo Potter has succumbed to Its charm, for I encountered her In tho Bellevuc tho other day wearing a charming black velvet model of the fashionable daring coat, over a blouso of crepe strapped with ribbon. Lunch ing with her were tho Princess Trou betzskoy. Mrs. Marlon Dougherty and Mrs. Horace Allen. Mrs. Dougherty, who Is another devotee at the shrine of velvet and fur, was stunning tn a tailored suit of black velvet, which had the collar and cuffs outlined with beaver. The little toque carried out this Idea, the beaver being fashioned at the side into -a prim, straight bow. The Princess was ultra-smart In a long coat of sealskin, which flared In the most graceful lines. It had a very blgh collar of skunk, Into which her head sunlc In a luxurious manner, while her cuffs were of the same fur. Co quettish In the extreme was the little toque of American Beauty velvet self trimmed about the brim, to form a wreath of petals. Mrs. Allen wore an Interesting looking three-piece costume of bottle green broadcloth and a large hat adorned with gold braid. I The patronesses are Mrs. N.
