Mrs. Filbert entertained at luncheon and
bridge the members of the) Quaker City
Ladles' Motor Club, of which shs Is presi
dent. The Invitations read. "An Old
fashioned Luncheon." and the decorations
of autumn leaves and flowers conformed
to th Idea. Mrs. Joseph Jefferson Mar
tin, Sr., was presented with a sliver lov
ing cup, In token of being the oldest mem
ber of tho club. Covers were laid for K
guests, who were seated at small tables,
arranged with centrepieces of autumn
flowers. The club has arranged for a
card party and luncheon at the White
Marsh Valley Country Club on October
27, following a run;
A success In every particular was the
annual vaudeville entertainment and
dance of tho dramatic, organization ot
the Madonna Catholic Club, 814 South
10th street, on last Friday evening, in the
Lyrlo Hall, 928 South 6th street, taxing
the hall to Its capacity, and a large num
ber of late arrivals were obliged to stand,
despite the Inclement weather.
Judging from the applause and curtain
calls, too much praise cannot be show
ered on to the cast for tho talent so well
displayed.

tlna was chairman of the Entertainment
Committee and general director of tho
performance Insured its success -from the
