DRAW GOOD DECISION
Featherweights Put Up Great Bat
tlo in Baltimoro
BALTIMORE, Md.. Sept. 16. George
Cheney, of this city, had a shade thn
better of Eddie Morgan, champion of
England, Jn the greatest featherweight
battle Baltimore has ever seen. Morgan,
on artist, lost because Cheney, a puncher,
perhaps did the most damage.
It was a no-declslon battle, and It ap
peared to many that It would havo been
an Injustice to the flghtters to besmirch
cither's career by declaring the contest
anything but a draw had a referee been
permitted to give a verdict.
There was also a rattling good semi-wind-up
between Frankle Nelson and
Crover Hayes. Both men put up an even
give-and-take fight, but Nelson out
pointed Hayes and got, the popular de
cision. IN MKMOIUAM
