1302 Walnut St re
Astlve steps have been taken by the
suburban brnnch of the Woman's LgU
for Good Government, 12 Stephen OlrarJ
Building, to help porsunde nlf voters to
register In order that there may be a
more nearly full registration than thr
hai been In recent years. To further th
work of the league ln this direction, th
suburban branch has sent it letter to each
of the members of tho branch, together
with circulars, calling attention to th
Importance of voters registering on ono
of tho three registration days Th rnc.ro;
bers are asked to give the circulars wide
distribution.
They call attention to the Importance i
of the voters registering ln order that
they may have a say In the election of
city official, and also the privilege of '
voting on tho constitutional amendments
for woman suffrage nnd for providing
funds for Philadelphia transit and port
development.
The circular calls attention to the fact
that last year 108,708 voters failed to reg
ister and were, therefore, disqualified
from voting. The women assert, ln the
literature, that "It seems a pity that
thero arc more than 100.000 men ln the city
who will not atke the trouble to bo regis
tered, although they have the right to
vote, while women of tho city who ara
willing nnd anxious to be registered and
to vote are denied that privilege." To- ad
vance their cause the women or the
Branch hnve adopted as their slogan.
"Get busy; get registered; get good can
didates; get them elected "
The Executive Committee of the Subur
ban Branch Is composed of Mrs. Edward
Pearson Flannery, chairman, 3Irs. Krnnk
Blisden Foster, vice chalrmnn, Mrs. John
A. Iji Fore, second vice chairman, Mrs.
Albert McVltty. treasurer Miss Anna
