report of a merger between United Gns

Cramp Shipbuilding shares were less
prominent than of late, despite tho news
that tho company had Bccurcd a contract
for a Inrgc ocean-going boat. This makm
the sixth ship to be built nt tho Cramp
yards, contracts for which were placed

are understood to be nbuut to be closed.
Philadelphia stocks have, by no means,
been luggards In tho general upward
movement which sot In a couple of
months ago. Among the local Issues tho
greatest gains have been icglstered In
Unldwln and Cramp, the former having

SI, and tho latter from 37 lo nbove 71.
