DR. JOHN
DOCTOR BRADY, AT 75,
DEFIES FATHER TIME
Athletic, Despite Years, Ho
Shows That "Man Is as Old,
as He Feels." ,
There Is ono man In this city who Is
a sincere believer In tha assertion that
"wo are only as old as woleel." Ho Is
Dr. John Brady, who retired from med
ical practice somo time ago.
Father Time has been cheated badly In
hla case, for although 75 years old, Doc
tor Brady" doesn't feel any more than 20.
In fact, ho lias taken another leaso on life,
nnd obtained It through athletics. Tho
doctor can do front nnd back "nip-daps"
In regular plnwheel fashion, like a circus
ncrobat. In tho water ho'a a duck and
can dlvo a la Kcllermann at nny anglo
you choose. In this connection, ho can
do the "Jack-knife," the "twist" or a back
dive without even pnuslng- to think
about It
Tho physician's victory over himself la
especially commendable when one 'con
siders that he was regarded ns a weak
ling when ho was 80 years old. On renl
Utng that ho was not up to tho standard
physically, the Doctor stnrted to exercise
on the quiet. Later he Joined tho Qer
mantown Branch of the T. M. C. A., and.
under tho care of A. B. Dunn, physical
director, he soon began to get Into regular
condition.
Ho followed the rules laid down rigidly,
and In a comparatively short tlmo found
himself getting stronger. Now ho takes
long hikes boforo breakfast, when
