progressed, prices ranging from 9 to 13
points above Monday close, but the rise
was not maintained and the market closed

ports from the Southwest and a. growing
foreign demand. July wheat sold at tho
start for U.07, 1H In advance of yester
day's closing. Bales were few but steady.
September, which closed at J1.03K yester
day, opened at $1 01, with n. Arm under
tone. December opened nt 11.064. It
closed yesterday at 11.08.
In the afternoon offerings grow larger
and prices receded nil around September,
falling a. cent or moro under last night.
Corn and oats, while not showing the
early advances, wheat were firm nml
steady for a time, but eased off lator.
The strength of wheat has Caused some
apprehension among tho July shorts. In
somo sources It was said they would be
