one of the big guns. Tho shell was made
at the Lubln laboratories.
The officers anil men on board tho
Alabama had a fine show watching the
Lubln officers run the ship. It wns pitch
dark when "Coptaln" Turner gave word
for tho ship to go into action. Four
powerful searchlights, concentrated on
the after deck, ennbled the 12 motion
picture cameras, Rtatloned all about tho
ship, to teglstcr the action. Terwllllger
gave the word nnd every light on tho
ship went out. The camera brigade kept
right on cranking. There wero a couple
of minutes of suspense, nnd then bang!
The big 13-Inch gun had spoken. There
wns a dazzling flash of light nnd then
Inky darkness. The bombardment was
complete. The revolutionists hnd been
wiped out nnd American gunnery had
ngaln triumphed.

In the Kdlson feature, "The House of
the Lost Court," Viola Dana wears a
charming gown nnd hat, which, unfortu
nately, tho screen cannot show In Its
pretty colors. Of putty-colored poplin,
the skirt is circular and shirred at the
waist. The low-cut bodice Is made with
a high girdle effect, with four buttons In
front, of n deeper color, but the same
as the piping nt tho top ot the bodice,
silk net with shlrrlngs nt the wrist. She
wenrs a close fitting bonnet of mustard
colored rough straw, faced with brown
velvet, with a velvet bow at the back
and two streamers to the waist. Around
the crown of tho hat is a band of brown,
then green, three-petaled flowers made
of fine straw.
