Collectors Told to Compel Dilinquents
to Pay.
WILMINGTON, Del., March Jl. Delin
quent taxes must be paid, the Now Cnstle
County levy court has declared, and col
lectors who have been granted an exten
sion of time for getting In taxes for 1911
and 1012 have been given to understand
that no mote extensions will be granted.
The county's financial situation Is such
that the court will Insist upon the collec
tors getting In tho taxes If they nre com
pelled to make levies upon properties or
take other drastic measures. Even with
the taxes collected, sufficient funds to
meet the expenses of the county will not
be available.
Funeral of M. Richards Mucklc
The funeral services for Colonel M.
Richards Muckle, who for years Identified
himself with charitable, literary, artistic,
musical, scientific, social and business or
ganizations of this city, will be held to
morrow noon, at his late residence, 1722
IJlne street, where ho died yesterday
morning, in his 89th year.
An hour before Colonel Muckle's funer
al, at which men prominent In every walk
of life will bo present, the Five o'clock
Club will hold a meeting In the Belle-vuc-Stratford
to glvo all honor to Its
founder, its oldest memDer and Its first
president, which the colonel organized on
February 2, 1SSJ. The services will be brief
and without mention of honorary pall
bearers. In accordance with the wishes
of the distinguished Phlladelphtan.
Burial of Mrs. D. A. Gay
Mrs. Deborah Ann Gay, widow of John
Gay, founder of the Park Carpet Mills,
which later was merged Into the John
Gay Sons, Inc., was burled today from
her home, 2002 North Broad street.
Funeral services were conducted at the
Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, Broad
and Diamond streets, where Mrs. Gay
had been an active member for many
years. The Rev. John R. Davles, pastor
of the church, officiated.
