Coaquanock Lodge brought the ladles to Its
.1d birthday gathering, on Tuesday night, and
xae them an entertainment of music, mov
ing pictures. Ice cream and candy and. aa'lf
that was not enough, a short dance. Many or
the old "war horses' showed they were stilt
young In spirit.
Ivy Lodge conferred the first degree before
a large attendance last Monday night and will
do the second degree next Monday eenlng.
About 3.1 members motored to Hulmevllle last
Haturday night to keep the promise made to
Neshamlny Lodge. All arrived safely, except
Bros, tlowlett, Charles Myers. Jones, Creex
more Hummel and Alllnson, whose car when
about half way refused to go further. Bros
Howlett, Mvera and Allison walked nbout 7
miles through the storm and reached the hall
Just In time for the "eats." The other three
atuck to the auto until rescued, about '
o'clock Sunday morning. The first and second
degrees by Ivy were enjoyed by all of Ne
shamlny Lodge.
Apollo Lodge has engaged Homer Rode
heaver for a spoclal meeting and special pro
gram on Friday night, March in, at Lu Lu
Temple Admission by ticket. The lodge Ini
tiated three candidates on Monday evening and
will put on tbe first degree next Monday.
The meeting of the Temple Kncampmeut on
Tuesday nlgbt was one of the largest and
liveliest In many weeks. The patriarchal de
gree was conferred In full form on three can
didates. The election for Grand Encampment
officers brought a good attendance of past
chief patriarchs to vote for (Irand Represen
tative Thomas F. Gross, of Philadelphia, who
Is a candidate for re-election to the Sover
eign Grand Lodge.
The semiannual election of otiicers was held
with the fellowlng result: Oeorge D Craig,

of No. 36. high priest! W. J. Overbeck, of
No 115, senior warden; Oeorge Koos, of No,
3000. junior warden: Robert Hermann, of No.

officers will be Installed on March 23. Among
the visitors were George F. Cambridge, of
Pittsburgh, who has been an officer of the
Grand Encampment for many years, and R.
Ross Maclver. who headed a delegation from
Keystone Encampment.
The "trail hitters" ha.e been Joined by
the Board of District Deputy a rand Patriarchs
and representatives from the arloua encamp
ment and divided up Into squads, which are
visiting the various subordinate lodges to
preach patriarchal Odd Fellowship and to
work up the class at Lu Lu Temple on Sat
urday night. May 8. Fifteen lodges were vis
ited this week.
Walker Lodge will be the hosts of the
'trail hitters" In their beautiful lodge room,
at 3810 Oermantown avenue, on Monday night

was very highly esteemed by tho members of
