nnd Cyril Hnrcourt danced several times for

the tea table during the nfternoon and was

Miss Mary Stuart Wurts and Miss Marjorlo
Taylor.
Miss Wurts was wearing a French model of
daik blue cloth, which was most effective. The
coat was open at tho neck, finished In a
rounded effect, nnd Indian embroidery' In shades
of red, blue, green nnd yellow was used as a
trimming. It was mado In hip length and was
belted In at tho waist. Over each hip wcro
Indian arrowheads of the embroidery and at the

serted on the left panel of the skirt, which
was slashed over a drop skirt of Bilk.
Tho skirt was unusual also In that It had
no hem, but was faced to the foot with a blnck
satin lining.
Miss Wurts selected a small trlcorne hat of
black velvet with this gown and red fox furs.
Mrs. Charles Stewart Wurts looked very well
In a suit of dark brown cloth and ostrich feather
hat.
An extremely dainty girlish gown was worn
by Miss Isabel Wurts Page, who was among
the dancers. It was of pale crepe do chine
of a EOft seagull shade and was made with a
full rather short skirt and wide hem, and tho
bodice, which was open at the neck, was lnced
up tho front with pale blue. A wide girdle of

nn exquisite Hnish to tho little gown, which
was topped with a small black hat.

sion fund ended last night. Ever since January
27 Leopold Stokowskl has been training 600
singers and 100 musicians bi-weekly In the audi,
torlum of the Curtis Building, nnd the frultfc
of their work will be heard tonight In the
Academy of Music. The singers have been
selected with great care from the Mendelssohn
Club, Orpheus Club, Eurydlce Club, Germnn
town Choral, Cantaves, Haydn Club, Matinee
Musical Club, Strawbridge and Clothier Chorus,
Fellowship Club, Treble Clef Club, Philadelphia
Choral Society, Fortnightly Club, Wanamakei

ond symphony In B Flat, entitled "Lobgesang."

Johanna Gadskl.
The last time the Lobagesang was given was
on the anniversary of Mendelssohn's birthday
six years ago, by the Reading Society, The
Philadelphia Choral, the Schubert Choir of
York, und the Mendelssohn Club.
The cause Is a most commendable one, as a
musician's life Is rather a hard one and the
compensation small, financially. It Is a fine
thing that, after the men have given the best
of their lives to the good of the organization
and are no longer able "with melody to thrill"
they will be looked after and cared for In their
old age.
