Dr. John B. McMnstcr, Jr.
Ill but a few days, John Bach McMos
ter, Jr., son of Dr. John Bach McMaster,
historian and professor of American his
tory In tho University of Pennsylvania,
died yesterday at tho University Hospital.
He was operated upon last Saturday. Mr.
MoMostcr, who was 25 years old. was a
graduate, of Chestnut Hill Academy nnd
I'enn Charter School, and was at the lat
ter Institution editor of tho school maga
zine. I To Was In his senior year at the
Law School of tho University of Penn
sylvania nnd was a member of tho var
sity track team. He was also a member
of tho Merlon Cricket Club and the Uni
versity CtUb. Besides his father and
mother, ho la survived by a brother,
Thlllp D. McMaster.
The funeral will be held from the resi
dence of his parents, 2109 De I.anccy
trtct. Thursday nfternoon, at 2 o'clock.
Rev. Dr. Thomas McCurdy
ATLANTIC CITY, March 2.-Th IXov
Dr. Thomas McCurdy, a well-known au
thority on church law nnd a member of
the Judiciary Commltteo of the General
Assombly of the Presbyterian Church,
was stricken with heart failure yesterday
and died almost instantly. Doctor Mc
Curdy, who was 74 years old, served in
Wilmington, Del., ns pastor, for 12 yenrs,
nnd later nt Peoria, 111., for 10 eurs.
Ho then went to Wooster, Ohio, where ho
was 10 years. Ho Is survived by a
widow and three sons, the Ttev. Allen Mc
Curdy, stationed In New York city; Earl
McCurdy. a banker at Buffalo, N. Y., nnd
Paul McCurdy, a merchant in Norfolk.
John Stockton
John Stockton, S7 years old, who was
retired from tho employ of the Pennsyl
vania Railroad, having served that com
pany for 38 years, Is dead nt his residence,
1304 North 22d street. Mr. Stockton, who
succumbed Sunday, was n widower, nnd
is survived by two nieces and a nephew,
Edward Stockton, connected with the
Pennsylvania Itallroad The funeral will
