Senator Stone, clinlrman of the Foreign
Ttelnllons Committee, will Introduce n
resolution In tlio Senate authorizing the
President to extend Invitation to Central
and .South American Governments to send
their Ministers of Finance to Washington
for a conference with tho United States
Tteasury officials and representatives of
American banking houses.
"Unusual conditions prevailing through
out the noilil at this time," wroto Secre
tary McAdoo, "would make this tep a
most timely one. The conference will
testilt In strengthening the financial re
lations of the governments concerned."
The rresldont will fix the time of meet
ing, for which It Is proposed to appro
priate 150,000 to defray expenses. The
question of evchange will be the principal
Issuo before the proposed conference.
Secretary McAtloo'a proposal was sub
mitted first to Secretary of State Brjan
and tho President, both of whom have
approved It. It was then sent to the
Foielsn Itelatlons Committee.
