ration makes an aggregate of 4 per cent.

The amount being distributed is tl.lGI.
ITS, nnd represents tho full 2 per cent
pioilt on ($0,241,910 of tho sindlcnto or sub
scriptions sot aside for the payment of tho
loreign indclHcdnrss or the city. Accord
ing to the tonus of the agreement, tho
svudlcato was entitled to 2 per tent, of the
net profits. If any, of tho foreign exchange
tiansactlons, and any net pi outs In excess
of such 2 pel cent aro to ho accounted
for and paid, to the clt.

pay back to tho city a sum aggregating

state Commerce Commission, It was as
certnlned today, soon will announce a
date for the beginning of hearings on
tho question of tho retention ot the water
lines of the New York. New Haven and
Hartford Itnllroad. Examiner Gould, ot
the commission, It was said, will prob
ably conduct the first hearing In New
York city. It Is possible, however, that
Commissioner Clements or Commissioner
JlcChord may hold hearings here, as the
case Is considered important In view of
the llsltatlon that 1ms been directed
aealnst the New Haven Railroad by the
Department of Justice.

riers operating out of Baltimore which
