Vtt)t $ nctifclp $ntfj There Is plenty of sunshine for Phil adelphia not far ahead that should make tho heart of every true Chris tian boat with Joy. Tho cause of all this brightness Is tho coming evangelistic campaign of "Billy" Sunday. During the few weeks tho master evangelist Is In Philadelphia thou sands of men will walk down tho "saw-dust" aisles In the tabernacle, and, after asking for prayers, will start to live new lives. Thousands of men, who havo followed the devil's broad highway for many yca.rs, will no longer be found In the 'saloons, nnd dens of vice, but Instead will be active In the religious work of the city. Their evenings will be spent with wives and mothers; and tho children, who are now crying for bread and wnrmth, will play at thene men's knees before glowing firesides. For. flccades the average "man of tlio worm" lias been fortunate If a clergyman or churchman once ft year naked him to go to church. When Sunday departs, the men who stay away from Clod's house and follow the sinful and debauching amusements that remain will dally have to dodge through dark alleys to avoid Invita tions to attend divine worship and to join the marchers In the path that leads to perfect peace. Some churches In Philadelphia are proud to add half a hundred new mem bers in n year. Others consider It a lucky year when they place a score on their rolls. Just nnlt until "Billy" Sunday comes. Several hundred of the men "hit ttlo tiail" when Mr. Sunday made an appeal nt tho close of his evening sermon, and Thomas St. Clair Evans, general secretary of tho Christian Association, says that prac tlcally all these men have since become actively Identified with some kind of re ligious work at the University or In the city. An evidence of the rellgloUB spirit In the University will be given tomorrow night, when between U0 nnd ISO students and members of the faculty, nnd men other wise connected with the Institution, will speak In 58 of Philadelphia's churches. Through the co-operation of Mr. Evans, the Sunday Campaign Committee has completed arrangements for the collegb men to go to the churches and tell what Impressions the evangelist left behind him last spring. At the same time the men -will speak on "Dynamlo Christianity." "An Appeal for Active Christian Life" and on "Christian or Religious Work at the ITnlverslty." Churches of all denominations have thrown open their doors to the students, and there will not be a Protestant de nomination before which they will not bo given a hearing. An idea of the type of men that are actively associated with the religious and social work of the Institution may bo gained by the mention of Just n, few of those who are In It.
