CHILDREN'S CORNER
11 3M Ctildreii Wp
77ici ioo me o the church one day,
Where daddy preaches people good,
1 heard the great big organ play,
For high upon the scat I stood,
Afy mother said the things with eyes
Were pipes, so while my daddy spo!(c
I looked, an I yet, to my surprise,
I could not see one bit of smoke.
Afy daddy preached a great long time;
I thought about my humming top;
I longed to sec a spider climb,
And Andy Swartz's barbershop.
Then little children all in white
Were christened, standing in a line,'
I thought it was a pretty sight
To sec them smile and look so fine.
Then tee were called to graduate
From cradle roll to primary;
I Was afraid I would be late.
And ran down calling, "Here I be!"
They handed me a s'tifercat.
Oh, dear, I felt so sad and florn!
I cried, "No, ski I don't want that,
I want a little tooting horn."
The people laughed and laughed at me;
And daddy seemed to think 'twas fun.
But mother's mad as she can be.
And says she's 'shamed of little son.
