The attendance was very large, the convention being fuller than any we have seen assembled for several years past. The different districts of the county were fully represented by the best men of the party. A. J. Steinman, Esq., chairman of the County Committee, called the Convention to order at 11 o'clock, and on motion Chas. J. Rhodes, Esq., of Manor township, was chosen President. On taking the chair Mr. Rhodes made o neat speech, urging the choice of an un• exceptionable ticket, and alluding to the bright political prospect of success present. ed to the Democracy. Ills remarks were received with applause, and the spirit man ifested in the assembly showed that the old lire still burned brightly in the hearts of the Lancaster County Democracy.
